I am Joshua Gwaltney, the man behind Iron Promise.

I create with iron—handcrafted metal sculptures, décor, and furniture—designed to bring beauty, personality, and artistry to your garden and home. But for me, this is more than just welding or working with metal.

My dad was a hardworking business owner, and watching him taught me the value of dedication, persistence, and doing things the right way. He passed away when I was young, but his work ethic stayed with me. Years later, I told my brother I wanted to build an ironworking business. I promised him I would do it, even though it seemed far-fetched given the challenges we had faced personally and as a family.

I spent nearly a decade working in the ironworking trade in the construction industry, where I developed the skills, precision, and discipline that now shape my work. After my brother passed away, I knew I had to make good on my promise. I dusted myself off and realized that my natural creativity, combined with my craftsmanship, could be the entry point into my vision. That’s when I truly committed to this path—not just as a business, but as a way to honor my family while creating something meaningful for others.
